Ready for my close up

Well I've decided to try this blog thing again. I'm sure I've been missed by all 3 of my faithful readers. In the interim between posts I've moved from gainful employment to unemployment and finally have arrived at the coveted title of "self-employed." I realized that during my entire teaching career, I had been telling everyone that what I really wanted to do with my life was sit on my azz and write. Well, this is certainly the perfect opportunity to do that.
Fast forward some months and I am on Chapter 5 of the Great American Novel (no, I'm not reading William Faulkner damn you! I am writing it!)
"Do what you love and the money will follow" has become one of my mantras. I spent 7 years following Plan B, making my plan A into an oft ignored hobby. Year after year, I put off applying to grad school for the PhD in Creative Writing Program. But I finally made the investment. I completed the application and turned it in. Now I wait. And you, faithful readers, wait with me.
I also sent a query letter to a literary agent for my novel. I figure that will certainly motivate me to finish it. Of course, we wait for that as well.
